about Elisa Tosoni

Hi!

My name is Elisa Tosoni, I am an independent curator of contemporary art, who occasionally plays the roles of art critic, fiction writer and chef.

I work internationally, curating and imagining exhibitions and projects, writing texts mainly on curatorial practice, as well as blogging on studio visits with artists. I am also a consultant for galleries and institutions, fellow curators and artists, and specialised in developing new commissions with international artists. I have curated projects for, among others, Arkitekturmuseet, Botkyrka Konsthall, Galleria Alberto Peola, Elevator Gallery and worked with institutions and galleries such as Iaspis, Manifesta, Bucharest Biennale, Cardi Black Box, Rod Barton Invites. My art writings and interviews have appeared on FiskFrisk, undo.net and Arte e Critica.

My current areas of research are temporality and fiction within exhibition practices, and I am slowly developing a long-term masterplan for a residency institution, engaged in fostering the process of artistic research rather than immediate production, and operating within a timescale that mirrors artistic rhythms, rather than dictating them.
